Imran (Piplu) is an artist/sculptor from Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has experience of leading workshop activity within Bangladesh and in diverse projects in India, the UK, Brazil, Taiwan and Denmark.

Piplu is a founder member of Britto Arts Trust. This is an artists-led, not-for-profit trust committed to promoting exchange and dialogue between artistic communities internationally and within the region. He was a founder member of Deshal, a young co-operative of designers that establsihed its own factory and two boutiques selling an innovative range of new designs on the Dhaka scene.

In a number of projects being developed for BanglaScot Foundation, Piplu is a leading creative contributor in the Melange Network production team. He was co-ordinating producer of the Poush Mela, a new BanglaScot initiative introduced to the Dhaka scene in December 2006.

In that event he also was one of the three-person artistic direction team that created Butterfly Butterfly a residency-based theatre piece commissioned for the Mela.
