Rashmi Sawant

Rashmi is an event organiser and cultural tourism developer from Mumbai, India. Rashmi has facilitated a number of international tours by Indian cultural groups, all linked to the promotion of India as a cultural tourism destination. These have included the young athletic Gotipua Dancers from Orissa, the Maharashtran Dhangers and local crafts workers. Film celebrity, Shaan is one of the top Indian acts Rashmi has promoted abroad.

One of the creative team behind the new Mumbai Festival, Rashmi played an important role for Tourism Cooperative India in developing a diverse new event for India's vibrant metropolis. A key player in Tourism Cooperative initiatives, Rashmi has now moved on to focus on stay-with-an-Indian-Family initiatives in South Maharashtra. These inlcude stays in the fabulous Sindhudurg area with its magnificent Velaghar (Dolphin) Beach and at Oros, inland beside the Konkan railway.

Cultural tourism fans should seek out this initiative just over one hour's drive north of Goa. She is a partner in the cultural tourism concern, Culture Aangan. Culture Aangan is a key partner of Melange Network in India.
