In collaboration with the BBCC-UK, the EFFUK will be organising
a high profile catwalk show at Expo Bangladesh 2005, timed
for the lead up to London Fashion Week.
In April 2005, representatives of the Ethical Fashion Forum
UK, a network of values-led fashion designers and businesses
based in the UK, established that there are many opportunities
for businesses and designers in the UK and Bangladesh to link
up, particularly in the designer fashion and fair trade sectors.
A taster of this show was shown at the Press Launch on 24
May, with outfits by well known and emerging designers being
presented. The work of both Bangladeshi designers and businesses,
and UK designers and businesses working directly with Bangladeshi
designers, artisans, and fair trade groups, was represented.
These included People Tree, Aarong London, Tribal Style, Aranya,
Ecota Forum and juste.
