BanglaScot launch in Edinburgh

Melange Network participated in the 2006 35th Bangladesh Independence Day celebrations in Scotland. Guests at the Edinburgh celebrations included His Excellency Sabihuddin Ahmed, High Commissioner of Bangladesh, leading Edinburgh businessman Sir Tom Farmer and Honorary Consul, Dr Wali Tasar Uddin (of Britannia Spice Restaurant and recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious Asian Jewel Awards).

The Independence Day celebrations also marked the UK launch of the new BanglaScot Foundation, which is to be launched in Dhaka later in the year.

Young Bangladeshi Safwat Gani choreographed an intercultural fashion show for BanglaScot as part of the celebrations. 12 local young people brought their time, talent and loads of enthusiasm to modelling in the event. Melange Network provided support for the project, one of a number of projects in which Melange is working alongside BanglaScot.
